    Pests

I don't know why I said aphids, really - these insects are much smaller. Absolutely miniscule, I'd say 2mm in length maximum, which is why I only just noticed them. Thanks anyway.

    Pests

I recently noticed some tiny brown aphid-like things on my VFT. I don't know if they are damaging it but they seem to be clustering around new traps which are about to open and one of these has gone black. Do I need to get rid of these things (I'm surprised because I keep the plant indoors) and...

    Heliamphora!

Richard uk - do you grow Nepenthes?, I could use some advice from UK based Nepenthes growers as Alvin Meister doesn't grow them and I can't see any other people from the UK on this forum.

    VFT Growing In UK

Sounds promising - I have skylights in the roof so the plants won't actually be right next to the glass, is this ok?

    VFT Growing In UK

Back again, with more questions. When I learned that I need 2-4 flourescent lights for VFT's I decided that the Sun could help me more, but since I've never spent a summer at home, only abroad, I wondered if our climate is actually sunny enough to provide the plants with enough light. I'm not...

    New Arrival

I guess I'll borrow another tube from my snakes, it's not a big problem! My room is an attic and has two large skylights, south facing, so natural sunlight will be a good idea for a small time in the summer (our climate is not exactly sunny) Alivin Meister, I'm right next door in Yorkshire - my...

    New Arrival

Thnaks again. I think I'll scrap the bottle idea and mist as you say. I don't know why we have the dehumidifier, to be honest, it's not my house (I'm only 16). But yes, it is the kind that extracts moisture from the air as you said, which is why I thought it should be pure. The light I'll be...

    New Arrival

Thanks a lot for your help! The company I bought it from is here in the UK, apparently reputable - though I just found out it's half an hour's drive from my house! ....nevermind, I suppose that's an advantage. I'm now ready for my new arrival, but for a few things: the plant will be kept in...

    New Arrival

Complete newbie here, my very first FlyTrap is on its way to me through the post as I type. Which is the problem - I have no idea it what form it will arrive - so here is my question. I understand that FlyTraps from big companies are grown in completely controlled and artificial conditions and...
