Well that explains a little bit. I fed just a black beetle to one of my traps and it has been closed for around 1 week and a half. But the trap was like 2 to 3 times bigger than the beetle. I am not going to snip it off until it turns black because I am not giving up hope that quick.

Shauntell, could you possibly teach me the things you learned on how to turn your spath red?? I am getting my spath anyday now and I want to know how. The only thing I know how to turn red is VFTs. Thanks!

I think it just depends on your location. Cooks is in Oregon. I live in Texas and it took only 3 days to get my plants.

Also, I know the same thread with the same question is farther down this forum but no one answered the question that I why I made another thread to try and get some answers.

How about you tell her that the fly trap can get up to 5 feet tall and the traps get up to 5 feet big and that it will eat her if she keeps on doing that?? I dunno, scare her big time.

Yeah Texas sun is very very brutal. But I have gotten my Vfts to except it and they do great! The good thing about growing them here in Texs is that the sun is brighter and closer so they turn red faster.

Same thing happened with me today!!! I usually leave my 2 regular flytraps and 1 Dente out for full sun and they do fine until today. I didn't know it was suppose to be 102 lol! My two other flytraps are fine, no burns or anything. But my Dente doesn't handle the heat and strong rays really...

Yeah I live in Lubbock, TX and I see them off and on. They haven't ever messed with my plants.

I saw the pictures in the Gallery of them and I want to know what are lithops. If they are just rocks why do they need a certain soil mixture??? Please help.
