    roxorboxor's Tuberous Dews Perpetual Thread

Only one day for me. I usually miss them since they open around 11am and are closed by the time I get home. The flowers are surprisingly large, bigger than a quarter in both cases. They're also really soft (like you can't even feel them if you touch them.)

    roxorboxor's Tuberous Dews Perpetual Thread

Small update: Flowers! Overview D. menziesii opened all at once D. indumenta opened its first flower for me. Quite large with 7 petals and interesting white fluff in the center (I'm no biologist sorry)

    roxorboxor's Tuberous Dews Perpetual Thread

I only have a few species so I'm not too sure either, but I can take a whiff when the time comes. Edit: Are these photos too big? I can scale them down more.

    roxorboxor's Tuberous Dews Perpetual Thread

Part of my interest in these is that they do well for me outdoors year round. Can't say the same for my poor neps haha (oh god). I'll try to add a couple photos in the next few days as my menziesii and indumenta are blooming soon. Shameless plug: I'm looking for more tubers from anyone who...

    roxorboxor's Tuberous Dews Perpetual Thread

I realize I don't post very much here. I've recently moved and will probably find more time for my plants. Anyway this will be a (hopefully) long-running thread about the tuberous dews I have. I don't intend this to be very informative about how I grow them since I just put them outside all...

How to prolong the season for tuberous drosera?

I mean october/november to march/april seems totally normal for me. If you want more tubers I would just feed your plant a bit more.

    Encouraging the formation of basals

I've had this happen on multiple occasions with my neps. If anyone's interested I can try to take some pictures tomorrow to show you. Let me clarify; in all cases the main growth point had become prostrate and produced basal shoots on their own accord. I haven't laid a pot down to force the...

How do i transition a terrarium pitcher to being outside?

I grow all my neps outside. I would imagine in SF you would have no problem growing this outside. I would watch out during winter for cold and wet nights so that your plant doesn't rot. As said above I would ease the transition so the plant doesn't go into shock too badly.

What the heck is my N. ventricosa doing?

I've noticed that some leaves will start almost vertical but then eventually curve down to a more reasonable level over time.

Popped a pitcher lid by accident?!

My girlfriend does this on purpose to my neps because "they're fun when they pop." I just make sure to make her wait until they're just about done before she does it.

Pitcher of the Month July 2014

First post in a long while. This is supposedly ventricosa x "TM" but I'm still have my doubts.
