    Orchid problems

I know that this is slightly off topic, but wasn't sure if it merited its own thread. This is a picture of an orchid supposedly trapping a bee. It's listed in a carnivorous plant article, but I think that the orchid is not actually trying to eat the bee. What do those with orchids think...

    Claims that Cannabis is Para-Carnivorous

Related question: If the plants make these chemicals as a defensive mechanism to disorient and retard prey, wouldn't it seem not very helpful to ingest these chemicals in significant quantities?

    Claims that Cannabis is Para-Carnivorous

This thread is in no way intended to be an endorsement of illegal marijuana use. Indeed, one could infer from this discussion that consumption of trichome resin is harmful. One internet writer showed photos of cannabis trichomes, claiming: "There is no other plant like this in nature". I...

The Venus Flytraps need lots of humidity, whereas my...

Are there pots with clear, removable lids to grow plants in?

I would like to have a pot with a sealed bottom to grow my sundews in. It would be great for two reasons: First, with a sealed bottom, it is cleaner, and with no tray of water separating the pot from the floor, insects can crawl into the pot. I don't have a problem regularly keeping pots well...

Sundews that do well with almost no water and don't care about humidity

Can you show a picture of what that setup might look like? I found this, but am looking for something that could hold the water I fill i with for a long time. My other option I guess is just to keep an upside down jar on it when I am away from home for half the year.

Sundews that do well with almost no water and don't care about humidity

Cthulhu, Why don't you recommend growing Drosophyllum as a beginner? I did great growing the same D. Rotundifolia plant and another kind of Drosera plant for years, but then I left on vacation and the medium dried out and what I had died. I don't mean to plant it in a desert or never water it...

Have you heard of Drosera indica and Drosera hartmeyerorum? I heard they need things on the drier side. I also read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drosera
