Thanks for the replies, next year I'm going to try a sandier mixture. I pulled away all the dead stuff and I'm surprised I found live growth underneath. It clumped 3 plants and everything was smothered by all the leaves.

Whats your soil mixture made up of? Your fly traps look flawless!

Peat Moss and perlite 50/50 No M.G. I use rain water my dishes are about 1 inch deep I allow a dry out then water - unless we get heavy rains Plants get full sun

I'm not a complete newb, these plants are growing in the same soil and water. Maybe its overwatering ?

I don't remember it being this slow in spring. I know there are CP experts here and it just seems weird not many or any noob questions in the plant forums when stores are selling VFTs. Did something happen or just my imagination?

Just the thought of Miracle Grow with a VFT makes me cringe. I hope it works out for you, it sounds like too much TLC.
