Are you sure? If so, that means I could send internationally... Could you point me to where you got this information from?
I'd rather not break any laws.
I've had multiple people message me on eBay asking if I can ship seeds to France, Brazil, etc... And I hate to tell them no, because it's probably very hard to find viable seeds there unless they know other hobbyists. However, I recall reading that it is illegal to ship Nepenthes seeds...
Okay, that sounds good. I'll put in any listings that I'll ship when safest or sooner if they're willing to risk it -- I'll probably just ship with a heat pack either way and add it into listing cost or something. It'd be mean to offer it and not force it since the cold is dangerous.
I'd for...
So it's likely the plant will always be in a warehouse or truck or plane that is above 50F?
And should I put anything in the description stating that cold damage won't be covered? It's hard to find a nice way of putting that lol...
Is shipping Nepenthes in Winter doable and easy? Here the nights don't get below 30F usually and days are in the 50s and 60s... I know on the east coast is must be very cold.
I have a shipping method for Nepenthes that has never failed me, but I have never shipping anything in winter before. I...
I grow all of my Nepenthes in pure Sphagnum with a heavy top dressing of live Sphagnum. I have them all sitting in dishes of tap water, about 2" deep at most. Never had any issues at all.
I may just put it in a bag in the freezer... I think it would feel very cold, but its heart would slow and it'd go unconscious. I don't see that being too painful, because cold doesn't hurt and then the fish would go unconscious and freeze without pain.
Oh god okay then that won't be happening. I just had the thought because I had hear people say that they do it / specifically use guppy fry to feed their Nepenthes... Do you know a human way to cull? If only I had liquid nitrogen (it'd be awesome and a fast painless death)...
