Auugh!! That is one of the most disgusting and intruiging things I've ever seen...
Makes sure no one is looking and goes searching for some mice.
j/k...
That's a very good idea. I could set a growlight above my houseplant area and set the sundew under it after dormancy. The grouping of all the plants will also boost humidity around the d. binata.
I bought one and put it out on the porch with my sarrs. It was looking good and growing for a while and then the new leaves started turning black on the tips. This plauge of sorts spread down to the growing point and no new growth has sprouted since. I checked today and the rizome has rotted...
I bought a bulb at a local nursery and planted it in a large pot full of yard soil and a good measure of manure. It's growing very well and next year I plan to plant it in our vegatable garden because all our pots will be too small. It seems to do well even when it's not completely drenched. I...
As we all know, fall will be here in a matter of weeks for us up north.
My small d. binata has been growing well on my porch, basking in the morning sun and pigging out on gnats. I'm worried about what to do with it come fall. I've heard about it's dormancy period which is about 3 months...

Anyway! I'm thinking of...
Haha. Yeah, purps are cute.
I know how you feel about the wild animals vs. plants thing. I had a s. minor flower bud and was so excited until one day I noticed that it had been broken off and was laying in the pot. The previous day I had seen some birds fluttering around the plant... ;_;
Oooh... You have s. x 'Bug Pipes'! I love that one! Where did you get it? I can't find it anywhere!!
Anyway...
How generous. Thanks you very much for sharing these, I'll definitely want some! :P
I don't really think they're difficult... my new u. nelumbifolia is doing just fine, sending up new stolons and the like. I'm just confused on dormancy with species like u. reniformis. Does it really require it? I've heard "yes" and "no". And if it does.... how will it come about? ó_ò
