How do you know when the female flower isnt going to accept pollen? The timing of my flowers were off so I don't want to waste pollen if the female isnt going to be receptive.
If been about two week since the female flower has opened and the male is just now deciding to open up. I'm assuming...
Yes, I have pollen from my singalana x truncata. I didn't touch the nectar.
I will try applying a light dusting of pollen vs trying to cover the entire stigma.
Oh so I'm not supposed to be coating the entire flower? Thank you. I was other the impression that I was supposed to pack pollen on the flowers. Some people gave advice that they add pollen everyday for a week.
How would I know when the flower is supposed to be ready?

I'm trying to figure out what I will do with my plant in the future when it flowers. I know people really love stripes so it might not be desirable to most.

The root mass isn't big enough to support the plant in the new growing media I transplanted it into. When it was growing in the Akadama within the 5 inch pot I was watering it everyday to keep...
It's actually most moist than it was before. The Akadama was drying out super fast as the plant was sucking it dry. So I decided to use this to also give the roots more airflow.
I transplanted the truncata back in November on the 15th and all growth has stalled. The plant seems to be in shock. The leaves aren't uncurling. The leaf in the photo has been like that for weeks.
Any tips or do I just wait it out until the plant get past the transplant shock?
