Hey guys. I got this plant a couple of months ago as a freebie in an order from a BE retailer. It was labeled N x 'Rokko'. I am familiar with Nepenthes 'Rokko', and in my opinion this plant looks nothing like it. Overall, the plant is very small, and produces lovely little pitchers. As they are...
N. sumatrana x (platychila x fusca). I think this is the last lower pitcher the plant will produce. Internodes are lengthening and the new developing pitchers look to be intermediates. Can't wait for the uppers from this hybrid :)

That looks like rust. It's come up in my neps before, and it can spread between plants. In most other genera of plants, rust appears as brown dust-like rashes on the leaves. However, the species of rust fungus that is genera-specific to nepenthes produces that distinctive orange/copper/red rash...
I believe you are correct. In fact, today I found a thread started by Wally himself in another CP forum, where he states that there are less than 30 flowering individuals of this species left in the wild, with the entire population being restricted to just a few square meters of habitat. He says...
Haha I sure hope so! I've only had the plant for around 10 days, but what I can say for sure is that it seems like it hasn't skipped a beat since delivery and there's no signs of significant transplant shock. Its already put out noticeable growth
Hello everyone,
Exotica Plants recently introduced a new Nepenthes species into cultivation, one which is currently in the process of being described as Nepenthes tenuidon. It is a highland plant from the Philippines and seems to be closely related to N. ventricosa and N. sibuyanensis. All the...
My young Trusmadiensis x burbidgeae is a bit slow, But puts out exciting pitchers every time and they just keep getting better and better. My two plants also tolerate the sometimes ridiculously-high daytime temperatures and they don't skip a beat
Thanks hcarlton, I'll try that :)
My plant was from Exotica's special 'specimen plants' catalog, of which "the photo is a pitcher from the actual plant you will receive". So obviously there was some sort of mixup with the plants
Are you referring to the one in the second picture which looks more like an upper? That was number 63 which is actually the one I ordered, and this is what I got:

I find that there isn't always a correlation between leaf size and subsequent pitcher size. In my experience that's a very unreliable correlation. In general, if your plant is producing good growth and larger leaves every time then you are doing something right. The plant will put out larger...
Hi! I would use sphagnum moss instead of peat. I find that peat limits root growth in most nepenthes due to its small particulate size, which means that there is not much oxygen in the medium. If you can't get sphagnum, you can mix peat with larger aggregates like orchid bark, or large perlite...
Hey everyone! I'm new here, so hopefully I don't stuff up the picture uploads/attaching. I grow highland and intermediate Nepenthes in Melbourne, Aus, in a variety of conditions including outdoor, indoor, terrarium and unheated greenhouse. I'm about to share some pictures of my favorites, so...
