I use an all mineral mix for my Mexican Pinguicula because I have found that the fungus gnat larvae which come with peat moss will happily munch on delicate ping roots. There are a lot of different options when it comes to soil components. When I was trying to formulate which mixture I would I...
Hi Paul! Unfortunately I did not keep the specific storage dates for each specific seed lot. I was planning on doing so in the beginning of the project; but what I found as I sorted all the seeds was that for nearly every species of seed I had, there were usually two or three multiples with...
I had some time this morning to take pictures of the germination progress!
Some have a much higher germination rate than others so far...
Will have lots of burmannii!
Other species only have a few seeds that have germinated
Lastly, there were a few packets of seeds that had no ID, so I put...
They have been under a constant light cycle, 16 hours a day. Right now I am making some changes to my setup and I might move them to a different shelf where they would get a two months of lower light in the winter (next to my Mexican pings and Cephs).

In addition to my Ancient Drosera Seed Project, I also acquired ~70 Drosophyllum seeds, dated 1996! Several people have told me that they have actually had higher germination rates with older Drosophyllum seed over freshly harvested seed. I guess we will just have to wait and see...
That being...
I did find this link that states that someone tried to cross pollinate Aphrodite could not get seeds to be produced. It looks like I have seed on the way, let's hope that they are viable! International Carnivorous Plant Society
