I have been growing my 5 inch tall plant for about 1 year now and its doing great on the windowsill. I water from the top, letting water form puddles within the leaves. Many a time you will see dead gnats floating in the leaves. Try keeping the plant rather cool, as too much heat causes it to...
just curious: what's some of you guys favorite punk bands out there? heres my list:
the casualties, anti-flag, afi, the adicts, s.t.u.n., alkaline trio, g.b.h., the unseen, resilience, total chaos, sex pistols, the clash, the misfits
my coloney of prolifera is growing quite nicely (and deey) in a large pot of live sphagnum moss. I have found out through trial and error, that, prolifera loves it cool...hot heat will just kill off the plants and you'll have to wait for roots to give you more shoots. try keeping it shaded and...
pygmies produce gemmae, but like all drosera, they also produce flowers. gemmae are a sure fire way to reproduce, but seeds sometime come too if the plant is willing.
The commomly sold drosera(sundews) sold here at pft are D.spatulata and D.adelae. They are both tropical drosera (spatulata-subtropical, adelae-tropical) both do well in a terria where humdity is fairly high. Spatulata does well on a windowsill with fequent misting. Adelae enjoys lower light...
your unkown drosera under the pic of the adeale is most likely a spatulata, probabaly D.spatulata 'kansai', the one that came as burkeana looks like D.dielsiana.
A very easy and quite longlived ping. would be P.moranensis. They are very, very easy to care for: I grow mine in a pot of longfibered sphagnum, but mixes of peat/perlite or peat/sand will do well also. Despite it being a Mexican ping, it does well when not given a dry period. I keep mine...
Hello,
First off, what a great effort you placed into the enclosure, it was over the top awesome lol. Well, more on advice, coming from a fellow herp collector-
The great size of the enclosure: it may seem that all animals need a large area to feel "happy and free", but that may not be all that...
i agree with what the experts just said about madagascarensis. It is a very, very rewarding plant, for the beauty just never stops; when it starts off small and slowly grows to a giant. If it starts to topple, tye the stem of the plant to a narrow stick and insert in soil, it would make it last...
You must likely have 2 barking tree frogs. Your best bet is to cruise aroung kingsnake.com and dig of info. Best to use rain water or distilled water, as stated before, amphibians absorb through skin. Best diet consits of a variety of insect.
For a small tank like a 5 gal, your best bet would be a single or pair of firebellied newts or toads. Reptiles tend to require more room, but if you are lucky, you may be able to locate a nice worm snake or ring necked snake.
