I haven't posted here in a long time. I've just gotten back into terrariums and stuff again and have some new pictures. I don't currently have any carnivorous plants going, but I have a few related projects.
Here's a new setup I put together over the holiday.

Laser-Cut 12v Fan Mount Kits
My laser-cut fan mounts are a handy way to position 12v air circulation fans in your setups. They attach easily to any clean glass surface with heavy-duty suction cups. Here are the models available top match popular case fan sizes.

Water freezing and heaving in a 5-gallon pail can easily break the plastic bottom. I bet that a more shallow container will provide more space for expansion upward.
Here is a heavy-duty plastic trough that might work well...
75 Gallon Tank
I can build a pretty nice cedar box to go around...
I wonder if the sand, peat and live sphagnum might reduce the expansion somewhat(?). Water in a big tub freezing solid really heaves quite a lot. I suppose I could try a test.
So long as they don't dry out during the winter the plants should be hardy here. The ones I want to use grow far north...
It will be too big and heavy to move and we don't have any other space to put it either. I am interested mainly in growing native bog plants. Many of these are hardy to Zone 3 or 2, so they can handle temperatures way below zero F.
Why would I want to roll it around? I am thinking of using a pretty good-sized cedar planter box probably about 48" long and 18" deep. It will be very heavy for moving.
I have a project in mind for the spring and I wonder about how to set it up. We have a rather small yard with a good deal of shade, but we have a sunny patio area where I would like to situate a container bog. I intend to use a cedar planter box with a pond liner or maybe a plastic stock tank...
Thanks so much for these responses!
Has anybody noticed effects of temperature on growth of Sphagnum? Do they tend to grow with more vigor in cooler temps? I think I have noticed wild Sphagnum with brighter colors in the fall and the spring.
Thanks for that link!
Since this planting will be in a fish tank it will be easy to maintain humidity with a glass top covering most of the enclosure. I was planning on using bottled distilled water and with slow evaporation I won't have to water very often.

Hi! I'm a new member here. I do not keep any carnivorous plants, but I have several other gardening projects.
I wish to build a setup for growing Sphagnum spp. mosses along with a few other acid bog plants in a fish tank enclosure. My current idea is to just to fill the bottom couple of inches...
