Calling All Cephalotus Experts!! PLEASE HELP!!

I had the SAME thing happen to all my Ceph's just last Fall. They all had been in the same growing conditions for two years; same photo period, never a rest. I decided that they were "tired". We've all heard the Ceph's don't need a proper dormancy, but now I'm not so sure... Anyway, in the...

    Cephalotus follicularis From Seed

Everyone knows about starting a Ceph from division, root cutting, leaf pulling and even seed, but has anyone ever tried a stem cutting? I trimmed four one-inch woody stems from a large typical that I thought were dead & dry. Turns out that they were still "moist" inside, so I planned them...

    My grow rack: criticism, please!

For me, trays are for catching draining water and keeps the water from going into the carpet. I like to top-water; as the draining water (thanks Mister Gravity) pulls oxygen down into the soil. Roots like that. :)

New way to grow pinguicula primuliflora!!

I've finally succeeded in growing (and propagating) it in dryer-than-usual conditions. They've been flowering a lot for me too this summer. :) They like a tad bit higher humidity than most of my other pings also.

    Helioamphora vs cephalotus

Cephs are easier for me in my growing conditions. Heli's are a very different story: I once had three species and hybrids of Heli's and they never produced one adult pitcher in 2½ years of "growing". I could not get my conditions both light enough and cool enough for Heli's I guess. Plus the...
