    weird D. rotundifolia hibernacula

Indeed it is Drosera rotundifolia, believe it or not.  Obviously hasn't see too much lighting leading to elongation as shown. I was apparently in a hurry when pulling that one, unfortunately sometimes happens since I pull and wrap all the orders.  With this as well as any other problem with...

    Sarracenia for postage

Hello everyone, I have a bunch of smaller divisions off of my oreophila plants, cost of the plant is nothing the postage is $6.  The limit will be one per person to start, so that everyone that wants one gets one.  All are artificially propagated from my own plant stock. Not wild collected...

    S. oreophila

Apparently seeds aren't even allowed to change location legally. Appendix 1 permits aren't real easy to get either. I attempted earlier this season and was told to withdraw the application. Cobra lilly questions

Darlingtonia in the wild have seen temps over 100F, however the root temperature doesn't ever exceed 70F. Also they get cooler nights, around 55F after that high heat. According the US Fish and Wildlife service you can give the Oreophila, jonesii and alabamensis away for free. You can however charge shipping. I do have several small divisions of Oreophila available. Contact me off list for details. Hope this helps on this one at least. Dean

    What?

Sarracenia prefer a dormancy period of 3-5 months, however there are those in Hawaii that grow them and they just shut down when they don't want to grow and start back up again. They are more robust in appearance and more vigorous if proper dormancy is observed.

    Butterworts

I have found that different butterworts will use different media. The Mexican variety does better for me with a heavy mix of 60% silica sand to 40% peat moss. They also like it a bit drier than most. The substrate can be a bit peatier for the sub tropicals and temperates along with wetter.
