    Your soil mix could be a problem in the long run. In my experience peat base mixes dont work great for rafflesiana. They do alot better in more of a airy mix such as L.F.S

    Just remember it could be a green form. Sometimes there's people selling so called "black forms" on ebay. Then they just turn out to be typical green.

    N. Hamata colors

    Mostly with Hamata the upper growth is green with brownish red marking. For the lower pitchers when newly open will lack color, as the growth ages they will pick up a redish purple shade.
