I got an ultrasonic fogger for my Terrariam, but it didn't work with distilled water, but worked with my well water. I was afraid of mineral deposits that might develop and I ended up not using it.
I remember reading in Savage Garden that Peter did try some natural pest controls (ie: ladybugs). He said that they were eaten like candy.
I just so happened to find a Ladybug walking around a window at the Libary. So I captured it, carried it to my dorm, and promptly feed it to my Cephalotus.
Ok. I have a couple sars that have a rather small infestation of mealybug. I have tried to drown them, but they came back. I tried to get rid of the ones I can see, but I know I am missing a few. So I have basicly decided to go chemical on them. However, I have never used chemicals on my plants...
If your university has a greenhouse, couldnt you just ask if you could have some space to keep your plants?
I haven't really thought about that, but, I am for sure going to have my terrarium in my dorm. It has my Ceph and Nepenthes in it.
Well I am going away to college soon and I fear I will have to leave my poor plants at home. Sad, I know. However, I have talked to my professor about my plants and he has told me that if I send him a growlist he would contact the "plant guy" at UK. So I might be able to bring them if the guy...
I like to feed ticks to my plants like that. It is fun to see them stuggle inside the pitcher of a Nepenthes or are covered by a sundew. Kinda like, "you suck my blood, I'll let my plant suck the life out of you." Or sometimes you get that annoying fly that buzzes so loud you can't think. Yeah...
