    Longer lived Sundew

And in essence that's probably what I've been doing to them. Poor things.

    Longer lived Sundew

That makes some sense. Many plants respond to fresh media well. I kinda ignored that because they're bog plants and their 'media' in nature would be anaerobic...so I was thinking it would be tolerant. But maybe not?

    Longer lived Sundew

That's a pretty thing (for a sundew)...I will consider acquiring one (postage so high..argh). Frankly, if it didn't have the dewdrops, it would look like a 'normal' plant (lol). And I do love how many bugs my sundews catch.

    Longer lived Sundew

Drocera capensis x 4(forms), aliciae are the ones that I have had. Typically they grow fabulously the first year for me, then less so, and after about a year or so, begin to decline and within the next few months depart their mortal coil. If I were having to make wild guesses, it would be...

    Longer lived Sundew

Well, I've been doing (in a small way) CPs for four or five years now and having relatively good success, except my drosera choices have all been fairly short lived, say a year or maybe two. I'd like to seek recommendations for one that would get bigger and better each year with windowsill...

Grass or sedge in CP container

So, next warm day...put on a bench and enjoy spending the next hour or two pulling out small weeds? :)

Grass or sedge in CP container

I started a small (oh 3 foot by 1 foot or so) container of sarracenia, drosera, and VFTs about 15 months ago, everything doing pretty good with full time outside...however... Oh my, the little green grassy things are pretty much all over. I assume the best thing I can do it try to pull them out...

    Drosera spatulata, Division?

That's an odd rule, I am not saying anything bad about the nursery (at all), nor implying it. Though it's nice that you were able to use that information to give me more information about the plant. Thank you. I'll read the rules, that was one I didn't expect. Ok, I think the part you were...

    Drosera spatulata, Division?

I got this plant last year from **, I believe it was a small clump then, with maybe 5 heads. Now, it probably has 30 or more, it seems to be hundreds when I look at it ;) Now, if it were yours would you divide it up or just pot it up into something a bit bigger? I don't necessarily need 30...

    Full VFT

I moved my plant outside 4 days ago, and now all but three of the traps have insects captured. I'm not sure if one or two are caterpillars/cutworms or slugs (they look long..but I guess that could be moths too), there's also like spiders, and a daddy long legs I think. The plant should be...

    NW Arkansas Semi-newbie

Plants arrived in absolutely pristine condition. They're all clustered with multiple growths, the drosera and the ping are both budded to flower very soon. It's been at least 10 years since I had a sundew, and I had forgotten how small all these CPs are...they look almost lost in the 2 1/2 pots...

    New to tropical CPs

Babies in the mail So...my plants have gone forth and will venture through the polar vortex such as it is. Our predicted low was 13 tonight and it's now 5 am and it's 20F, so I won't complain about that. It should be a balmy 64F by the time they hit my mailbox on Friday. My plans for housing...

    New to tropical CPs

Let me know when you offer some of that up for sale, unless I absolutely kill my first ping, I'll be up for it.

    New to tropical CPs

Well for whatever reason, CPs have been on my mind for two days. With some ?benign? encouragement on the welcome forum, I placed an order while ago, for a VFT 'King Henry', drosera spatulata, and ping x marciano. While I was aware pings existed before this, I had never paid them much attention...
