i left my traps out one day too...and when i went to get them, 2 of them had a single brown dot on them...i was very careful, and i could scratch them off...so i don't think they were burns...i was wondering what they are?
i was wondering if i could feed bitey (i named my plant bitey) some plant steroroids when he's healthy to see if he'd grow bigger...i was thinking of mixing some in his water (just a very little bit at first) then gradually giving him more to see if theres any change....has anyone tried this or...

i fed my trap a baby fly...(one of the real small ones)...it closed and it was fine for about 5 days....then it started to open up again with the fly still in it (its wrapped with white stuff now tho)....and i was wondering if the trap is just dyeing?

one of my closed traps is turning really brown and it is very thin....i was wondering if it is on its death bed?
and when i trimmed off the dead ones, half of the stem was black too, so i trimmed it off...is that right?

i thought it would be cool to get a big fish tank, fill the bottom with peat moss and fill the whole thing with traps. you'd probably need some way of draining the water, and one of those lights that people use on thier pet lizards and snakes might be useful too...has anyone done this?
thanks a lot...i'm a part of a few forums, and this one is b far the most welcoming! my plants are doing good now, ive had to trim off 2 dead traps so far...i made a cover out of an old 2 liter pop bottle to put over top of them at night, and i also put flies in there too to try to feed...
that was quick...the soil is still moist (i havn't watered it yet)...a card came with it saying "put your flytrap in a room with lots of light, but not in direct sunlight"....so i put it on my dest near the window...my rooms pretty warm, around 27-28 degrees C...anything else?
i got a trap at a local Zehrs today for 5 bucks.
i took it home and opened it up and let it sit in my room, at the time the traps (about 6) were standing straight up.
when i was in my room a few hours later, i noticed they had all fallen to the side like the trap part was too heavy, is this...
