Yeah! I remember kind of freaking out when I bought it because the squamosa was already showing and the cistiflora was nowhere to be seen. I even emailed California Carnivores about it and they just told me that it's too early for it. Turns out they were right, lol.
I'll be sure to post pics...
Thanks! I'm glad to hear that this is normal. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't doing something wrong. I can't wait to see it explode into growth. There's not that much time left in the growing season for these guys. I need to fatten them up so they multiply.

Hi all,
I bought a Drosera cistiflora and a Drosera squamosa hybrid at the end of the summer and so far the squamosa has been going nuts with growth, but the cistiflora slept in an extra two months and hasn't really made a whole lot of growth since emerging. It's just a tiny, tightly packed...
It is, but light tolerance/requirement is variable based on species. For instance, Drosera adelae doesn't seem to tolerate super bright light, but others prefer it. I've never had issues with VFTs and light though. They like bright light as long as they are properly acclimated to it. Your safest...
I don't think I have room for one quite that big, so I bit the bullet and went with the VIVOSUN one. I also bought a black waterproof tarp to put underneath it. I don't think the issue is spilling things as much as it is the water condensing on the sides and sliding down in between the tray and...
Yeah, I assumed it would get pretty warm since the T5s do give off some heat. That's what I wanted though, my room is always pretty cool and in the winter, it can get into the 60s (not by my choice). Can you share which brand you went with? I'm pretty limited to the sizes I linked to for the...
Hi All!
Today I was planning on pulling the trigger on a cheap grow tent before the winter weather kicks in. Even in the summer, I grow most of my plants indoors because my patio is too shaded and the deer keep eating stuff! (:censor:) Anyways, I've run into some issues that I hadn't accounted...
Yeah I missed the part about this being a tropical terrarium. Sarr is probably not ideal. From what I understand, most dews are not tolerant of fertilizers either. Not sure about others.
The moss ball idea is probably the best bet.

I personally would give it a shot if there are no fertilizers and I had something to spare. You won't know for sure until you try. Just put something cheap in there to start with and see what happens. Maybe a CP that is more tolerant of nutrient-rich soil. Sarrs can benefit from light fertilizer...
I always thought this was required! Guess a lot of people don't send separate packets when they donate... I can see how that would get difficult to keep up with.
Glad to see that it's been updated though!

That's really a shame. I wonder if there isn't something we could do to help. Like a donation drive or something...

I wondered the same thing. I think earlier in the year they had a bunch of stuff, then all of a sudden it was S. jonesii hybrid seeds or whatever is up there now. I'd donate some but I'm just getting started again and I am not 100% certain of the identities of some of the seeds I have.
