    N. Peter D'amato cultivation?

I saw it yesterday, and while you can get most of it in other crosses, it's more of a pride of ownership with the plant than anything objective. It's a fantastic plant to watch, I visit the nursey to check in on it and itll pitcher even in the hottest or coldest months

    Mystery pest

I went for the hard stuff right away for spider mites. Lots of otherwise fantastic looking plants have the red guys on there and I just hit them with the Bayer 3-in-1 and it's pretty much set and forget. Theres almost no wrong way to use the stuff, I spray the soil and the crown, try to avoid...

    Windowsill Nep recommendations

Lets just hope any artificial lighting you throw on top would add some warmth, but the tempurature drop lets them know to "close shop" and start processing the food sugars they worked hard to produce in the day. I don't even bother checking humidity, I grow lots of different species and...

    Large Nepenthes!?!?

Maxima and Spectabilis hybrids usually produce large pitchers and grow fast, but honestly you'll want to keep most small-medium starters for at least a year before they produce any noteworthy pitchers. I would buy the biggest plants you can afford if you're trying to get there faster.

My local friends keep Helis in a tank under T5 lighting with no misting and keep them with highland nepenthes in the same media. Which makes me think they can be windowsilled, at least in my climate which actually can get to the 50's indoors. In terms of difficulty, I've never gotten...

Sliding door drink fridge as you would see in a convenience store, a couple rows of strip LED lighting on top with supplimental indirect light through the polycarbonate against a wall on the sales floor. All of the stock was kept there as well as what I'd imagine to be the ultra-highlanders and...

Peter and some of the crew were busy so I didn't have time to speak, but thats what being the biggest nursery in the US will do to ya. Damon was only a stone's throw away and was attentive and we had good conversation. After about 10 years of growing CP's it only takes 5 minutes to learn...

Nepenthes robcantleyi (formerly known as Black Truncata)

Mine hasn't actually unrolled it's first leaf in 3 weeks lol. Only the tendril has come out of the mother leaf. Some plants have taken a month to acclimate and even do anything to be fair and I did just toss it outside in near-full sun.

    New order came in!

These have got to be the healthiest size small plants I have ever ordered from any nursery hands down. I FINALLY got one of the N Robcantleyi clones and it's sweeeet! Seriously look how healthy some of this stuff is. Please forgive the pic of them outside, a couple plants got a little cold...

    Promoting Growth - Bical/Amp Hybrid

If you're inquiring about possibly fertilizing, I'd use MaxSea only during the middle of your growing season. Being an LL I think anytime is ok. Go 1/4 to 1/2 strength depending on your watering schedule. 1/2 for outdoor, 1/4 for indoor.. every two weeks. You could also use a really mild seawood...

    Osmocote in pitchers?

Osmocote kills the pitcher but I think it works because the plant does grow, but through the soil it's been great. Live LFS doesn't like it because of how concentrated the stuff is when it comes in direct contact with the pellets. I think just hosing down my plants with the 1/2 strength Maxsea...

    My Nepenthes :)

Everything in my grow list. I will say that overtime, a 1/2 strength Maxsea solution and 3/4 to full sun has been great. Thanks Rainforestguy. It's the reason I haven't been online in three years, it's just because things have been chugging along great. Also sometimes a Nepenthes will abort a...
