    Lewisburg, Tennessee

Welcome. You're just a few towns over. I live in Summertown. I keep my sarrs and vft outside yr round. I basically trim away all of the pitchers (except on the purps), treat w/ sulfur (anti-fungal), place the plants in a lined hole in the ground and cover with straw. I them dig them out a...

    watering sarrs with well water

I use well water and only the drosera have shown any ill effects. Another trick i have heard if but havent tried is to collect the water from your a/c or central air. Central air especially put out gallons of apparently clean water a day.

cps in the heat and drought

We had a severe drought last month. No rain for 6 weeks and 95+ everday including a week of 105-110 everyday around the 4th of july. The only thing I lost was some mexican pings and they were more of an experiment anyway to see if they would do well outside. Surprisingly I have a large N...

Desperately seeking assistance - P. moctezumae dying under my care

Dont toss it. It may have gone into dormancy. The leaves die back leaving what looks like a little onion. When they do this they are prone to rot so let the soil dry out until it starts to show bew growth which may be a month or two.

    Unknown utric, I think...

I am pretty sure it is a sedge grass, real common in sphagnum moss. If it is a utric you should be able to see the small vacuole traps on the roots.

    Energy Crisis

Rig up some coolers. I think i'd put some ice water in the bottom, keeping the plants up above the water. Do that during the day and then maybe at night when it cools put them under some lights.

    Can My Succulents Go Outside?

Mine do fine outside. They will get sunburned though so i keep them in a mostly shaded spot. I have a few different kinds of epiphytic cacti and dragon fruit cacti. The hardier standard cacti get full sun. The top pot looks to have a kalanchoe(the smaller one) and a cactus from the genus...
