I think the bladderwort idea sounds good. Changing the water would be too expensive since I have to buy distilled water. Where can I get the species you suggested?
The mosquitoes are taking advantange of the standing water in my sarr pot. There has been a mosquito population exposion around my house. Is there anything I can put in the water to kill the larva that won't harm my plants?
Thanks...
The VFTs I have outside are ones that I bought last year from this site. They have not produced a mature trap this year. They were frozen in my fridge so they kinda got a late start this spring.
The ones I have inside are also from Exotic gardens. I've had them for about a month. They arrived...
Ok, maybe I'm worrying about nothing but I really think something is wrong. I first noticed a notch in a leaf on one of my outside VFTs and now one of VFTs that I keep inside has a notch on one of its leaves. It almost looks as if something has eaten the leafy part of the petiole. The traps look...
I pulled my VFTs out of the fridge to plant them last week, only to find them frozen solid. I went ahead and planted them, hoping for a miracle. Has anyone ever had a VFT recover from a similar situation??

My VFTs caught a couple of crane flies on their own here while back. Their legs were also sticking out and waiving around. I couldn't believe it took them so long to die. You'd think they would pass quickly but one lived for like 2 days!!! Very interesting stuff.

Man, I had to go way back to page 3 to find this post. Anyway, the first trap I fed a toad opened a few days ago and the second is opening today!!! The third should probably open in a day or so. I guess toads make good food after all.
I haven't managed to find anyone of my friends with a...
It is some kind of bee, wasp or hornet. I've seen them in pools before and been stung by them. Not a very painful sting, kind of like a mosquito bite.
